The engine in S-models uses large turbochargers to deliver rapid acceleration at low speeds. With the PDK and Launch Control feature, the 911 Carrera S can achieve a 0-100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds and reach a maximum of 306 km/h. Under the hood, the base 911 Carrera is equipped with a 3.0-liter turbocharged flat-6 that delivers 370 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque. It can be paired to a 7-speed manual transmission or dual-clutch PDK automatic transmission. For more power, the 911 Carrera S delivers 420 horsepower and 338 lb0ft of torque while boasting 20-inch wheels compared to 19-inch wheels in the base. For more power, the 911 GTS and 4 GTS feature a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged flat-6 that puts out 450 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque. Upgrade to the 911 GT3 and you will be treated to a 4.0-liter flat-6 that puts out a massive 500 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque while still getting a respectable EPA estimated 15 city and 20 highway miles per gallon in the automatic. Upgrade to the 911 Turbo S and you will notice a 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-6 that puts out 580 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque. For the ultimate level of performance, drivers can choose the Porsche 911 GT2 which boasts a maximum 700 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. This model gets an EPA estimated 15 city and 21 highway miles per gallon.
