2022 Porsche Macan vs 2022 Porsche Macan S

Serving Farmington Hills, MI

The Macan combines the high-performance capabilities that today’s drivers expect from the Porsche brand with the functionality of a small SUV. For 2022, the Macan is a mid-generational model showing significant changes. The Turbo trim level has been eliminated, and this leaves the base, the S, and the GTS trim levels. Because of this shift in trims, you will notice that the powertrains and some of the features have also shifted. As you get serious about your search for a new SUV, you may be wondering how the Macan and the Macan S compare.

The powertrain in the base Macan has been revamped so that it delivers more power. This is a four-cylinder, turbo 2.0-liter engine that generates 261 horsepower. The Macan S receives 375 horsepower from its V6, turbo 3.0-liter engine. These options are associated with dual-clutch, seven-speed auto transmission, and all-wheel drive. The Macan S also comes with enhanced braking capabilities and adaptive suspension dampers.

The only noticeable difference between the base Macan and the Macan S on the exterior is their wheels. The Macan has 19-inch wheels paired with all-season tires. The Macan S comes with 20-inch wheels. All of the Macan trim levels for 2022 have teardrop-like LED headlights and a prominent, curved nose. They also have a swooping, well-defined hood and bold accents across the lower door panels.

There are many differences in available and included features between the base Macan, and the Macan S. The base trim level has a 10.9-inch touch display screen, a 10-speaker audio system, wireless smart device connectivity, four USB-C charging ports, heated and power-adjusting front seats, leather upholstery, and a three-zone climate control system. Base safety features are front and rear parking sensors, lane departure sensing, and forward collision mitigation. The Macan S adds the option for a panoramic sunroof, a 14-speaker sound system, front and rear heated seats, and blind-spot monitoring.
